"Travelling to Glasgow, to face Celtic, is a great opportunity to test ourselves as we gear up for Premier League and European football next season," said Eddie Howe.

"We'll face a top team at an historic ground, with a big away crowd there to support us."

Our last pre-season match at Celtic Park was under Sir Bobby Robson in 2004. Back on Tyneside, Celtic were our guests for Alan Shearer's testimonial match on Tyneside in 2006, and we met for a pre-season fixture the following summer at St. James' Park.

We last visited Glasgow in summer 2023, beating Rangers 2-1 in front of a capacity crowd at Ibrox before travelling to the United States for the Premier League Summer Series.

Back in the summer of 1996, Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers wowed a 50,000 crowd at the old National Stadium with a 5-0 win over Singapore’s ‘S-League All Stars’. New world-record signing Alan Shearer was even presented to the crowd before kick-off.

Our match with the Gunners will take place on Sunday 27th July, with kick-off time to be confirmed shortly.

Having Singapore as part of our pre-season will provide a special experience for supporters in Asia, and we’re looking forward to seeing them and playing in front of them in July.
