The young Magpies sealed qualification into the play-offs with a game to spare following last week's 7-1 victory against Reading at St. James' Park and remained in ninth place of the 26-team division despite Monday's 4-0 defeat away at table toppers Manchester City.

Their reward is an away tie against Arsenal's second-string, who finished one point above Newcastle in eighth place and the game is due to take place between 25-28 April.

If the tie is level after 90 minutes, there will be extra-time and then, if required, a penalty shootout.
