The Player of the Match after Newcastle United's 2-1 victory over Manchester United at St. James' Park has been revealed.

The Magpies left it late to seal all three points, with second-half substitute William Osula netting the winner in the closing stages.

But it was midfielder Joelinton who scooped the Player of the Match award, landing a huge 34% of the fan vote on the Newcastle United website and app.

Aaron Ramsdale started the clash in between the sticks and made a number of crucial saves, denying Matheus Cunha and Kobbie Mainoo in the first-half, as well as Lenny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee in the second period.

The goalkeeper finished in second place, claiming a respectable 30% of the vote.

Kieran Trippier put on a true captain's display, leading from the back and keeping Manchester United's attackers quiet. The defender went on to earn 28% of the final vote.

Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali finished with 8%.
