One Newcastle United star ran away with the win after the victory at Tottenham Hotspur.

Jacob Ramsey has been crowned your Newcastle United Player of the Match after netting his first goal for the Magpies in the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder earned 54% of the vote following his North London exploits, strolling to victory as fans had their say in the aftermath of the victory.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Ramsey admitted: "I have been playing different positions and today was playing a little bit higher up. The manager is demanding I need to get my numbers up and thankfully I got my goal today.”

Newcastle impressed in the capital from the early stages, with Joe Willock putting the away side ahead before a marginal offside call saw the goal chalked off.

Moments later, however, Malick Thiaw would put United in front for real as he poked home from close range. The centre-back also enjoyed a solid showing at the opposite end of the pitch as he battled with Dominic Solanke throughout.

After Archie Gray's equaliser, Ramsey would score what turned out to be the winner for Eddie Howe's side.

Willock, who is enjoying a run of games in the team, was another standout star, alongside Anthony Elanga, who earned praise for his display on the right of Newcastle's attack.
