Her team lead the division too, with a 100 per cent record. United's number 26 is now one of just four players at the club who were playing the last time the Lasses sat top of a league table, during their tier three days, and now she's enjoying her football like she was during that title-winning campaign of 2024.
The club has changed significantly during Lumsden's time in the North East, but every season she's been able to raise her own standards, and now, playing in a frontline including two Scottish internationals, the 27-year-old continues to step up in a big way.
She scored the opener against the Blades, then brilliantly set up another in a 4-1 victory - adding to her goal on the opening weekend of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers Women.
"Obviously, I want to get my numbers up as much as possible when I'm playing," Lumsden told newcastleunited.com after an impressive third straight win of the season against Sheffield United Women on Sunday.
"I know that ultimately the three points are all that matter; if my goals and assists help us to win, then that's even better."
Manager Tanya Oxtoby saw several attacking options added to the club's arsenal over the summer, including WSL experience with the likes of Leanne Kiernan and Martha Thomas, and that increased firepower has helped the Lasses move top of the league while also netting the most goals - seven - in the division.
Out of those seven strikes, Lumsden and Thomas have been involved in six of them and with more time on the training pitch and on Sundays, Lumsden can only see that relationship with her fellow attackers improving.
"The more you play with people, the more you build up that connection on the pitch, and the understanding improves, and I think we (Lumsden, Thomas and McGovern) are getting used to where each other are going to be," she added.
"Between us (against Sheffield United), Martha and I got three goals and a couple of assists. It's been a good start to the season, and hopefully we can continue to get better."
Last season, Newcastle failed to score more than once in 12 out of their 22 WSL2 matches, so Lumsden feels that doing so in two of United's opening three this campaign is a positive sign of what's been worked on over pre-season.
She said: "We want to be winning games more comfortably than we have done in the past, so it was nice to get a couple of goals and then see the game out comfortably."
