Everything you need to know ahead of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 10.

Newcastle United have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to bring you Fantasy Premier League (FPL) hints, tips and advice throughout the 2026/27 season.

Scout will be offering their expertise every Gameweek, which could prove invaluable in helping you win your mini-leagues.

Best of Newcastle in Gameweek 9

Fabian Schar (£4.9m) delivered defensive contribution points for the second successive week in Monday’s clash with Everton.

The long-serving Swiss stopper was the only player on show who met the required threshold for clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBITs).

It means that at least one Newcastle defender has banked defensive contribution points in eight of the nine Gameweeks of 2026/27 so far.

Impressively, Schar’s average of 13.4 CBITs per 90 minutes is the second-best rate of any Premier League defender who has made at least one start this term.

Elsewhere, Lukas Hornicek (£5.0m) bagged a save point against the Toffees after making four stops.

That takes the Czech custodian to seven save points for 2026/27, the second-highest total among FPL goalkeepers.

The ability to amass saves or defensive contributions is a real boon for the backline. It means that, even if a clean sheet doesn’t materialise, goalkeepers and defenders can still walk away with compensatory points.

Spotlight on... William Osula

At the other end of the field, the return to fitness of William Osula (£5.8m) is a welcome development for the Magpies.

Despite only starting three league matches in an injury-interrupted campaign, Osula already has two attacking returns to his name. That’s helped him to a healthy average of 5.0 points per start.

Being able to make limited pitch-time count is nothing new to the young Dane.

In 2025/26, the much pricier Erling Haaland (£15.8m) was the only Fantasy forward who could better Osula’s rate of 128.9 minutes per goal.

Now back to fitness and with his first 90 minutes of the season under his belt, Osula could prove excellent value for money - especially as a couple of price drops have taken him down to a tempting £5.8m.

FPL transfer market

Away from Newcastle, it’s once again all about replacing Joao Pedro (£7.7m) for Fantasy managers.

The Chelsea striker, out for “a few weeks”, has been sold by a further 850,000 of his owners ahead of Friday’s deadline. Last weekend, Pedro broke an all-time record for most ‘transfers out’ in a single Gameweek (3.3 million)!

So, for the second week running, forwards represent three of the four most-bought players of Gameweek 10.

And those three in-demand forwards are the same as they were ahead of Gameweek 9: Evanilson (£6.4m), Alexander Isak (£9.2m) and Nicolas Jackson (£7.0m).

And the in-form trio can barely be split for points over their last six matches. Isak has 43, Evanilson 41 and Jackson 39.

What separates them is price. Fantasy managers are best advised to plan ahead and think about if the £2.2m/£2.8m saving made by going for Jackson/Evanilson over Isak could help with future transfers.

For example, could a bit of cash in the bank help upgrade Ezri Konsa (£4.8m) to Gabriel Magalhaes (£8.0m)? Konsa’s main positional rival, William Saliba (£5.9m), is now back from injury, so the England international’s minutes may no longer be assured going forward.
