The England international missed the midweek Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Fulham but is back in the starting 11 against his former club as one of four changes made by head coach Eddie Howe.

Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and Nick Woltemade are all in from the start against Enzo Maresca's men, with Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes and Yoane Wissa reverting to the bench while Tino Livramento misses out through injury.

Aaron Ramsdale, Fabian Schär, Malick Thiaw and Jacob Murphy all keep their places following the 2-1 victory over the Cottagers on Wednesday night, with captain Bruno Guimarães, Jacob Ramsey and Lewis Miley - who netted the winner in that game - also retaining their spots in midfield.

Along with Willock, Barnes and Wissa, Howe has firepower in the form of Joelinton and Anthony Elanga among the substitutes.

Youngsters Alex Murphy, Leo Shahar and Sean Neave are also named, with John Ruddy acting as the backup goalkeeper.
